Hu Jintao Returns Home after Sweden Trip

On June 10, 2007, Chinese President Hu Jintao concluded his state visit to Sweden and left the Swedish capital of Stockholm for Beijing.

During his visit, President Hu met with Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Parliament Speaker Per Westerberg, and had talks with Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt. Hu reviewed with Swedish leaders progress made in the relations between the two countries and planned the future development of bilateral ties. President Hu and the Swedish king also attended a ceremony for the return of the replica of Gotheborg from a China voyage.

On the evening of June 10, the Chinese leader made an important speech at a welcome dinner hosted by the Sweden-China Trade Council. The two countries also signed a number of cooperation documents.

Hu Jintao arrived in Stockholm on the evening of June 8, local time, after attending the outreach session of Group of Eight (G8) summit in Heiligendamm, northern Germany.
