In order to effectively implement China-Singapore relations progressing with times, both sides should enhance cooperation for the sake of the joint construction of the “Belt and Road” and promote regional connectivity to create more mutually beneficial cooperation projects. The two countries should jointly advance the regional integration process, complete the negotiations on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) as soon as possible, strengthen the construction of a closer China-ASEAN community of common destiny and make contribution to realizing the great goal of the community of common destiny for Asia and even mankind. Wang Yi stressed that China firmly upholds a good-neighborly and friendly policy towards neighboring countries, and is willing to, together with ASEAN countries, safeguard peace and stability in the South China Sea. It is hoped that Singapore could well play its constructive role as the coordinator of China-ASEAN relations to push China-ASEAN relations for greater development as well as advance regional peace, stability and prosperity.

Singapore and China enjoy solid and robust relations as well as share broad space for the future development. Fully supporting China’s revitalization and rising up and attaching great importance to developing its relations with China, Singapore stands ready to become a long-term and reliable cooperation partner of China. The Singaporean side backs the “Belt and Road” construction and welcomes Chinese enterprises to participate in the bidding of the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur high-speed railway project. Against the current international situation filled with numerous uncertainties, Singapore appreciates President Xi Jinping’s important speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, and is willing to work with China to promote the construction of the RCEP and other aspects of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific, and maintain the global free trade system.
