Ambassador Gui Congyou Meets with Swedish Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg

On 1 December, Ambassador Gui Congyou met with Minister Mikael Damberg at the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation.

Minister Damberg said Sweden has attached great importance to developing China-Sweden relations and stood ready to increase high-level exchanges with China, actively implement the important consensus on cooperation reached by the leaders of the two countries, and strive for greater results of bilateral practical cooperation.

Ambassador Gui said China has set forth the vision of innovative, coordinated, green, and open development that is for everyone, and that the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China has highlighted innovation as the primary driving force for high-quality development. China is growing into a major platform for various innovative elements to congregate, while Sweden is a strong innovative nation and a world leader in terms of innovation capacity. The two countries face new opportunities and broad prospects for innovation cooperation. He hoped that both sides would vigorously carry out various forms of innovation cooperation including "enterprises plus scientific research institutions" ("2 + 2") and promote a higher level of innovation-driven economic development in China, Sweden and across the world.
