Foreign Minister Wang Yi Attends Working Dinner of Diplomatic Envoys to China of the EU and Its Member States

On March 14, 2017, Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the working dinner of diplomatic envoys to China of the EU and its 28 member states at the invitation of Head of Delegation of the EU to China Ambassador Hans Dietmar Schweisgut.

Wang Yi noted that China-EU relations enjoy a sound development momentum. Under the current complicated and ever-changing international situation, China firmly supports the European integration process and commits to establishing China-EU four partnerships of peace, growth, reform and civilization and uplifting the level of bilateral cooperation through deepening strategic significance of China-EU relations. China, together with the EU, also jointly tackle global challenges, and cope with uncertainties in international situation through enhancing the stability of China-EU relations. China will continuously deepen reform and opening-up, and is willing to make joint efforts with the EU to advance an open world economy.

Hans Dietmar Schweisgut expressed on behalf of the EU side that as comprehensive strategic partners, the EU and China should further expand and deepen dialogues and cooperation in various fields. The EU looks forwards to, together with China, strengthening communication and coordination and sending out the positive signal of jointly opposing protectionism.

Wang Yi also exchanged in-depth views with the diplomatic envoys on the Korean Peninsula situation, the international cooperation on the "Belt and Road" initiative and other major international and regional topics.
